Professional Summary

Nicole is a maternal-child health nurse practitioner who provides care to children and adolescents from birth through 21 years of age at our ambulatory care sites. She has been with the department for more than 5 years, and her favorite part of the job is providing education about how to keep kids healthy.

Nicole also participates in academic activities such as Grand Rounds, M&M conferences, QI conferences, resident didactics, and medical student didactics. Nicole enjoys mentoring residents on their research projects!

Work Experience

Nicole is a pediatrician with more than 10 years of experience. She specializes in delivering primary care to multicultural and multilingual patients in an outpatient, ambulatory care setting.

Nicole has been on the board of directors for various non-profit organizations such as the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials. Nicole is bilingual in English and Spanish, which proves to be incredibly useful when working with her diverse patient population.

She loves to operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions as prescribed by the Commander.

She is a mother of two who always strives to maintain her DOD email account as directed. Nicole also enjoys reading books about survival stories from others that have been in similarly dire situations as herself because it helps her feel better about being alive today!
