Best Convertible Cribs (Full-size) on 2023
✔ The crib is modern and sleek with a variety of heights for mattress support;
✔ Assembly was easy, but it does take two people to build this piece;
✔ The foam packaging really did its job in protecting all the pieces during shipping - you won't even need tools because they're enclosed inside box-shaped protective sleeves so nothing gets scratched or damaged while handling them outside their enclosure until installation time comes around;
✔ The price point couldn't have been better either -I got all three pieces at once instead of having two separate orders shipped separately or buying them individually later on down the line if finances allow);
✔ The crib is perfect because it's narrow and fits in our space beside the be!;
✔ It has plastic bite guard that came with it so you don't have any worries when your child starts chewing on everything in their path (or even before!);
✔ You can put this together by yourself within an hour of reading through instructions carefully- though expect some tears along the way;
✔ It was easy to put together and comes with an instructions manual if you need it;
✔ The finish on this product looks nice, but we recommend letting it air out before use because there are no strong smells noted like some other brands do (maybe due in part by how new our furniture can get);
➖ The silver screws attaching each side are large with no cover-up stickers or plugs so they're ever visible once you put something down on top of them;
➖ There are warning stickers everywhere which leaves behind pieces if glue/paper making for an unsightly finish plus these black angled brackets don't allow a mattress skirt (which would have been great since we didn’t know what type)and also clash greatly against white paint coloration found within our selected baby;
➖ There is no mention of which side faces out when installed on an incline, so you're left guessing at your own risk! ;
➖ The manufacturer also missed opportunities by using cheap materials without thinking through how they would affect durability in order for this product to really feel worth while purchasing;
➖ Four corner posts which make up the base of your child's mattress; they're slightly sharp on the inside so be careful when installing this for older children who may fall down while playing in their room unsupervised!;

Best Convertible Mini Cribs
✔ The crib was easy to assemble;
✔ All the pieces were correctly labeled with a letter so there wasn't much guesswork involved in putting this together;
✔ This crib is incredibly sturdy and I know others had trouble with construction, but if you have ever assembled furniture before it's pretty consistent;
✔ I love that the side can come off for when our son becomes more mobile in order save space;
✔ It's perfect, not only does it fit well into our small bedroom but he'll have his bassinet all ready too-I don't think babies need full-size cribs until they're much older anyways;
✔ The assembly was pretty easy and took us about 2 hours at a leisurely pace;
✔ Even though some parts were not as sturdy, such as the drawers on changer part of it; I wouldn't say this is much worse than other furniture we've had before in terms durability-wise (i mean who knows what people put into their own homes);
✔ It fit perfectly next to our bed without taking up too much room which mattered most since space has never been;
✔ The drawers of this changing table are really solid and slide in smoothly. ;
✔ I like that it has a big shelf on the back for storage, too;
✔ The bottom is made out metal so you can tell these cribs will last some time- which was one reason why my old one broke (the wood ones always seemed weaker);
✔ It came with all the tools you need and best of all, there are none of those stupid little cam lock nuts;
✔ I was also impressed that when it's folded up into its smallest size - which can be done by himself – every single part fits nicely inside one another so no worries about keeping track anymore;
✔ The sturdiness of this product makes me feel confident about my daughter playing around in bed, as well as when we take her out for naps during those precious childhood years;
➖ The only thing I wish there was a way to cover up the holes where drills are after you assemble it but baby can chip those covers off and swallow;
➖ The convertible crib does come with some cheap mattress pads but we recommend upgrading to something more durable for safety purposes since the ones supplied are like tissue paper!;
➖ The mattress/pad that comes with it doesn't look comfortable. I ordered a separate 4 inch mattress to make sure my baby is well-rested and happy while sleeping in her crib!;
➖ Who thought that sticking warning labels on the inside would be such great advice? Just make sure you don't feed your baby any of these pesky things, or else they'll have an even worse case than before;

Cribs are safe for babies as long as they meet crib safety standards.
- Cribs for babies should have a low profile with a high side rail;
- Mattresses should fit tightly in the crib and not move more than an inch on all sides or front to back. Mattress slats should be no wider than two and half inches apart;
- The crib must not have decorative cutouts that could entrap the baby’s limbs;
- Slat strength must exceed 500 lbs, which is equivalent to five hundred pounds of pressure per square inch (PSI) from all directions including pushing down from above, pulling up from below or attempting to bend the bars sideways. Slats need to be sturdy enough that if a corner were pushed against one side, the crib will not collapse;
- Cribs should have a corner posts that are close to but no more than one and half inches apart or at least 23/32″ about an inch down from the top of crib rail;
- Corner posts must be free of sharp edges, cracks and splinters as these can result in injury too;
- If the crib has a drop-side mechanism make sure it is well designed with smooth movement; securely attached; stationary when open; does not fit too tightly between bed rails on closed position (less than two fingers width); lock works smoothly and easily: fits snugly against mattress frame providing good support for the mattress.
Types of cribs
There are many different types of cribs to choose from, including convertible cribs, cribs with special features, crib mattresses, and other accessories.
- Convertible cribs are one of the best cribs for babies because they can be used as a toddler bed or full-size bed when a baby gets older;
- The foldable crib is a good option if you need to take it on trips. These are smaller than standard cribs but still, comply with safety standards so great for travel purposes only;
- A drop-side rail allows parents to easily reach their child without having to lean over too much. This feature also makes changing diapers easier since mommy no longer needs to bend down all the way every time she changes her little one’s diaper! However, some models have been found after numerous reports that infants could.
Convertible cribs can be converted into a full-sized beds or toddler bed
- The crib mattress should fit snugly in the crib with no more than one and a half inches gap between the crib sides. Slats less than two and a half inches apart are safest because there is not enough space for the baby to get limbs or body stuck
- Mattress support must be firm since soft mattresses could result in suffocation, entrapment, or SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Do NOT put your child on top of another pillow under their head as this can cause breathing problems too. The crib sheets need to have deep pockets so it does not come off easily when turned over during sleep
- Crib safety rail pads are great for protecting against injury from falling out of bed at night if little ones happen to be moving around too much. They also keep crib rails from getting dents and scratches in them over time
- Crib bumpers are not safe because they can pose serious suffocation, strangulation, or entrapment hazards for children under two years of age; there is no evidence that crib bumpers prevent injury related to falls out of bed or injuries associated with nearby objects like pillows, toys, etc…
Crib sheets should fit snugly on the mattress without gaps between it and crib sides since loose-fitting sheets could result in the baby being entangled by his limbs during sleep. Flat cloths are best so if your child does roll over face down while sleeping he/she won’t have anything blocking their airway

Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib
Is this crib easy for someone who's shorter than 5'4"?
The crib is a great choice for shorter moms. I am 5’4″ and can easily pick up my son with this design! The short legs are an added bonus since they won’t make you feel like either will drop into the gap below them or fall off while reaching inside to take care of your bundle of joy.
I'm looking for a crib that is safe and environmentally friendly. Do you know if this one has any VOCs or harmful chemicals in it?
This crib is an excellent buy for any family, made of the highest quality materials (solid New Zealand pine wood). It has been designed with safety in mind. There were no issues with the smell or preparation process. It only took us a few minutes to put together.
Does this crib have positions for an adjustable mattress to raise up and use as an infant bed?
The adjustable bed base has three height settings to suit your needs. It’s great for people with a tall or short mattress and it also allows you the option of raising/lowering them by adjusting metal supports on each side.
I haven’t really spent any time looking at any baby products yet. She’s been driving that ship. And so kind of wanna hear from her and why she picked out this CRI versus all the other cribs you can find on Amazon and online today.
Yeah. So if you are in the market for a crib, you know that you have so many options, you can get cribs as, um, cheap as a hundred dollars. You can splurge and buy cribs for a thousand dollars.
So what I did is I just started looking at articles, um, where people were ranking the best cribs based on safety style conversion. If they’re able to be converted into a toddler bed. And I kept seeing this one pop up on the list, the baby luau, Hudson crib, um, and yeah, I think it looks great.
Um, I bought it in white and all the other baby furniture is gonna be white. So I think it’s gonna look really good and it’s safe and reliable. So I’m excited.
Sweet. Well, let’s go ahead, guys. Now let’s go ahead. Let’s get it unboxed and see all the package contents. Yay. So we got the box open up here. Just wanted to show you guys how everything comes pat.
Now we’re gonna go ahead. We’re gonna remove all the package contents and show you everything that’s included. Here are all the package contents right here for the crib. You can see all the rails and supports on the cardboard box right here.
You can even see the toddler bed conversion. We got the mid-century modern design and white, and we really liked the look and feel of the finish. They did such a good job, packaging, everything for us, nothing’s damaged and everything looks great. So there we go.
You can see all those contents right there. Also, excuse the dog bed, but there is a mattress frame for us as well for the crib. And then we have our additional package contents right here.
We have a nice thank you note. We have your installation guide, which we’ll look at in more detail. As we set everything up, we have some more information on the crib for us right here with the model number, manufacturer, date, serial number, and everything else we might need in the future.
Here’s the included hardware kit with some additional instructions. And these are all the contents that are inside that box. We got your washers, your bolts with an included, a wrench, and a wood Dow right here too, to use for installation.
You will need a Phillips head screwdriver do not use power tools. Just use a handheld screwdriver to complete the setup, but with the screwdriver in the included Allen wrench, you’ll be all set.
Now let’s go ahead. Let’s get it set up. So in the installation guide, go ahead, and look at the parts right here. And you can pause the video if you need to study it and see their assigned letter for each panel in frame rail, et cetera.
And then we can look at the hardware as well, right there. We can turn the page to look at more hardware so we can see everything else right there. And then assembly step one, which is what we’re gonna do right now.
You can see it’s really simple and straightforward. They even zoom in on it to show you what we’re gonna be doing in each corner. And then once you do it in one corner, you’re gonna repeat that for the other three corners.
Now, this is really important. I wish they kind of made a bigger note of this, but they do show you the correct picture, but make sure on these sides, you have those holes on the outside.
I went ahead, I already started building this and I had those holes on the inside, cuz I wasn’t paying attention. And then I got to step four and I had to retake everything apart. So go ahead, pay attention to those holes everywhere you see right there.
Here are all the parts we’re gonna be using for this step that they reference right here. But here they are visually for you. So we have all the big wood Dows they make a smaller sized as well.
We’re gonna be using the bigger ones, the four bolts that had this attached to them. Go ahead, take those off. Use the lock washer. And then we’re gonna drop that piece in place right there on that hole. Now we can go ahead. We can look at the frame. We have it set up correctly right here. So again, that holes on the outside, those holes are on the outside.
Insane for the other side, make sure you have yours looking just like this. Then I wanna point out we only have one big hole right here on the user guide.
You can see in their diagram, they have multiple holes. We do not have that specific piece. So ours is even easier. There’s only one hole that can go in. So now guys, let’s go ahead. Let’s get those installed.
So now looking at it closer, I went ahead. I put the two wood dowels in right there. We’re gonna go ahead. We can drop this piece in two, but make sure you have that hole the right way. We need that hole to line up with this hole right there. So go ahead.
You can just drop it in like that. And now we go ahead. We can take this bolt, and put it like that. We can line everything up right there, push it into place and then tighten everything down.
So there we go. We push it into place. Now you can see we’re just ready to take the Allen wrench right here. And this is a little goofy, so it kind of hits it, but they do cut it out enough for you to just twist this into place and then repeat this step for the remaining three sides right there.
Now you can see, that we completed step one at every corner right there. Now we’re ready for step two, which is gonna involve those feet right there. So we can come over to step two. We can see the frame we just assembled and what we need to do next.
So we gotta place some of the smaller dowels on each foot. And then we’re gonna take the H two screws with the lock washer right there and attach them together. So that’s all the parts we’re gonna need for this step right here.
Now let’s go ahead. Let’s get ’em installed. So it’s upside down, but I wanted to show you what it looks like right there. So we can come over to this site.
You can see what we’re gonna do in a little bit better detail. So this Dow is gonna go in this hole and then this threaded hole is gonna line up with this hole. So when we flip this over, we can screw one of these down, which we’ll do right now.
Now you can see, that we have it flipped over and we can just drop these bolts right in there and tighten them down with a Phillips head screwdriver. So you can see we just finished. Step two. We can go in on it. Now old, the screws have been attached right there. So we have the legs, the feet installed. That looks great. Again. This is your last reminder.
Yours has to look like this right here with how those holes are aligned. So make sure your base has the holes in that exact same position. If they’re on the inside, you need to go ahead and redo the steps to make it look like this, to finish putting on those rails.
So now guys, let’s go ahead. We can make it over to step three. You can see we’re just gonna attach all the remaining wooden dowels right here. So we don’t have any left and you can see where they go.
They go on all the remaining bigger holes that can fit these dowels on the top right there. So let’s go ahead. Let’s get ’em placed. There we go. Step three is complete. We’ll walk around so you guys can see them all put in their proper places. Now we’re ready to move on to step four right here.
You can see the instructions again. They’re very clear. We’re putting railings a and B on and they even zoom in for you showing you how to line up everything with the wooden Dows that we just put into place. Here are all the parts and pieces we’re gonna need for this step right here. So let’s go ahead. Let’s get ’em installed.
So I went ahead and just stuck one on the wood. It Dows right there. So you guys can kind of get a feel for how it’s supposed to look from all the different sides and angles right there. Then we’re just gonna go up underneath and tighten those bolts down.
We’re just gonna feed ’em through with our hands so you can see that’s the whole underneath that we’re gonna use on the other side, just push the bolts up through there. You can flip this upside down too.
If you wanted, we can show you this other one right here, where those bolts are gonna thread into and where your wooden Dow is gonna go in right there. So go ahead. Let’s do that now. So you can see, I got one in here and we’re just finger tightening into place.
If you need help lining it up without turning it upside down, you can just lift it up just like that. So you can see it right there and just continue to thread it in the place. Fours complete, everything looks great.
Now we’re moving on to get one of these railings installed for this side. So we can look at step five right here. We can see in more detail, everything that we need that I have laid out for us right here. But if you need to pause this right now to study a little bit more detail, we’re gonna take the three longer ones on each side, right there and install them in place.
Then we have two of the shorter ones going up from the bottom to attach to that railing as well. So let’s go ahead. Let’s do that. Now. You can see what we’re gonna do right here. We have a little bit of wiggle room.
There’s the threaded hole that, that bolt’s gonna go in and we have two more to do on each side. Full three of those are tightened down and repeat that on the other side to show you guys those two bolts at the bottom, I went ahead and laid the crib on the side. You don’t have to do that for installation, but it might make it a little bit easier for you.
Go ahead, use the Phillips head screwdriver and tighten both of those into place. Step five is complete and everything looks great. Now we’re ready to proceed to step six. We’re almost done because there are only seven steps.
So we’re gonna add the mattress support frame in right now. So you can see right there what we’re gonna be doing. And here’s a close-up on how everything goes.
So we got the really short bolt, the lock washer, then our regular washer, but the mattress frame in between the two washers. So there’s everything that we need right there. Now let’s go ahead. Let’s get it installed. So step six is complete.
Everything looks great. Let’s go ahead. We can look at one of them in more detail so you can see the pattern, just like the instruction guide.
So we got the bolt, the lock washer, the metal for the mattress frame, and then our other washer right behind it. So it’s really nice. You also have multiple adjustments. So as your baby grows, you can lower this down. Looks really cool. I did notice in, for some reason, this piece is a little bit bent in.
It’s not gonna affect anything. Everything else is perfect but did notice it’s got a slight bend in it, probably from shipping and then we’re on to step seven.
Our last step, we can see it right there. It’s gonna be identical to step five. So here are all the pieces that we need that use everything up. We do have one extra lock washer, so we can just go add, hang onto that or throw it out when we’re done. And it looks really simple and straightforward.
The longer bolts on this side, three on each side and then two at the bottom, and the cribs assembled. So we got the long bolts installed on both sides. Now we just have to install the two shorter bolts on the bottom. Same thing. I turned it on its side. Again, we’re gonna hand tighten them in and then finish ’em up with the Phillips head screwdriver.
So they’re tightened down and crib installation’s complete. So here’s the assembled crib guys. It looks great. The installation process took me right under 60 minutes. I’m pretty experienced with furniture assembly.
So if you’re not experienced with it, it may take you a little bit longer, maybe an hour and a half or so. Just depends how quick you’re moving. If you’re distracted by anything else. And if you’re having any problems along the way, you shouldn’t expect any problems.
So you’ll have to redo it. But if you get that all lined up and good to go for the beginning, you won’t have any problems. Now I just wanted to show you guys the instructions for the toddler bed too. We would basically just have to disassemble the last step that I showed you guys.
And then add this frame on instead, which is included in the box. And you can see we’re gonna use the same parts right there, but just not as many of ’em.
So that’s really nice, gonna be super simple to do someday when the baby starts to outgrow the crib. So we’re really happy with how the baby let crib turned out, but we’re even more excited to welcome our first child into the world.

For short moms, the crib is perfect! I’m 5’4″ and it fits my hips just right. Plus with an adjustable mattress height, it’ll fit any mom’s stature perfectly…you won’t have any trouble getting kids in or out.
What is the difference between the "sofa bed" and "day bed" configuration?
The configurations of sofa beds, daybeds, and cushions can be changed depending on what use they’re put to. Day bed frames tend to have a lower profile than couches. The “sofa bed” configuration in this crib is perfect for primary use as a couch, but “day beds” are more like benches and their locations within the dwelling determine how they can be used.
I'm curious how long I can use this once converted into a toddler bed?
Once your child begins to climb out or reach a height of 35 inches (89 cm), whichever happens first, stop using the crib and get them used to sleep in an adult bed.

Can I try using one bed for your newborn twins?
One bed can work well at first though — especially if they’re small enough that sharing a bed doesn’t bother either of them. The crib isn’t really big enough for two babies at once so your best option would be to use one bed until they outgrow their need for close proximity togetherness in the infancy stage.
Where should I put the mini crib? Maybe here, maybe on this area. Maybe I should try it out. Maybe I, I could do this area. Well, let me, let me check it out. Oh, wow. Perfect. That should be it. Now that we have found a space for the mini crib, let’s get it prepared. Oh, wow. It looks so beautiful. Oh,
So this is the blue crib. All right. So this may crib, it took my husband about one hour to construct it wasn’t too, too hard. Uh, they provide like, um, we didn’t have a guide.
So, we were able to find something that was easy on the internet through the manufacturer’s website. So it wasn’t too bad for my husband. And so I really like this mini crib because it does fit perfectly in our bedroom.
And we want to, to share our bedroom with, with our son, um, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, they did you recommend to share the bedroom, uh, with your baby up to optimally one year old?
And because our room is a little bit small, I feel that this many cries fit perfectly. Eventually, if our baby goes really fast and then we probably have to transfer him to a crib or a toddler bed where he’s gonna be sleeping in his own room.
So let me talk to you guys about this mini crib. So this mini crib, um, it is the name of it is dream on me, Costco three, one. It also has a attachable changing table.
And so the changing table on this area, it has some storage area too. So I have here some diapers and some, um, wipes just to have it ready there.
And also I have like a little bit of like a little, uh, storage for just lotions and creams for baby rash here is supposed to be the, the changing table, according to the website, it’s supposed to come with the changing table, but, um, I’m just gonna try to see if I could find one that could fit, uh, but I haven’t found it yet.
And so it’s, so in the meantime, just gonna have this for storage place. And so I have just blankets here, uh, Muslim blankets, uh, some towels, uh, this is a, uh, a changing pad liner.
And let me show you one cool thing about this mini crib is that we also have three different cabinets. So I have here, I put here all the socks, um, bibs, uh, hats here. It’s just the one CS and his PJs as well in the crib area.
There is three levels on how you, you can adjust the mattress. So because I’m a little bit short and I need to reach to the baby, um, for our newborn, we’re just gonna have on this level first as he grows, and we are afraid that he’s gonna be standing or anything like that, then we probably have to move it down here.
And we want to thank our friends who donated this, this really beautiful crib to us actually is a gift. And, um, according to the website, doesn’t come with the mattress, but our friend also gave us a brand new mattress.
And this mattress is called cream three, uh, mini crib mattress. And you can see this one is the waterproof mattress. And so it’s really easy to wipe in case the baby pees on it or soil. So this is really easy to clean, uh, is hyperedge and it’s also made, so both the crib and the mattress, because they’re from the same company, they are, um, they’re built to be toxic-free.
So there, they’re free from ballets. They’re free from lead, they’re free from lake tech and BPA. So we feel that’s really good, especially for the safety of our baby.
So the mattress is thin, but I’m unsure there, you could buy another mattress, just have to make sure you read on the website, how big is the crib, and then find a mattress that fits best with the crib.
And I end up buying besides so, so on top of the mattress, I wanna make sure I get a crib mattress protector.
And so this is the one that we bought. So we have this called plush deluxe, bamboo crib mattress protector. It’s also waterproof, um, is bamboo quilted surface, as you see here.
So just to give a little bit of plus, and it’s supposed to protect, you know, from dust, my allergens liquids, um, and it’s also hypo polygenic, and also free from vinyl PVC dilates. And it has a breathable membrane. So that allows the air to circulate and is noiseless.
So it doesn’t make any noise if the baby, you know, starts, if the baby ends up moving or things like that on top of this. Oh, I forgot. I also wanted to buy a second one just in case I don’t have to do laundry so often.
And so this one is also from missing company, plus the looks, um, but this one, the difference between this one and this one is that instead of being bamboo quilted, uh, this is actually made of cotton, uh, Terry surface, but also is hypoallergenic and noiseless and also, uh, toxic free.
And so this is really good for those, anybody that suffer asthma or eczema. So this is one of those things that we were looking into. So we’ll, we’re gonna try it.
So on top of the crib mattress protector, we wanted to cover it with a regular fit, a mini crib sheet. And this one is actually pretty inexpensive. I believe I got it for less than $10 and I’m gonna get to, uh, for now, uh, but this only is made with organic cotton. Um, and it’s really soft, um, as well.
So, that is for the mattress and its covers. And we have here, um, mobile, this is the jungle friend, musical mobile that our friend give it to us as well. And this one is actually pretty neat because you could turn around here.
Oh, and this is on, you could turn it off if you want to, You could turn it on and it moves. So there have colorful patterns on these animals. So the baby can track it and will help entertain the baby.

When you need to pack away your baby’s equipment, all that is required are some simple movements. Once you’ve pulled up the mattress and board, just fold your crib in half. You may need a clamp if it’s stuck tightly closed while tucking away.

Best Cribs for Baby
The Babyletto Hudson 3-in1 convertible crib is a great investment for any family. Its sleek, modern design will fit right in to any nursery, and its convertible feature means it can grow with your child. Assembly was easy and took only minutes with two people. I would definitely recommend this crib to anyone looking for safe and stylish sleeping space for their baby.
PROS
- The crib is modern and sleek with a variety of heights for mattress support
- Assembly was easy, but it does take two people to build this piece
- The foam packaging really did its job in protecting all the pieces during shipping - you won't even need tools because they're enclosed inside box-shaped protective sleeves so nothing gets scratched or damaged while handling them outside their enclosure until installation time comes around
- The price point couldn't have been better either--I got all three pieces at once instead of having two separate orders shipped separately or buying them individually later on down the line if finances allow
CONS
- The silver screws attaching each side are large with no cover-up stickers or plugs so they're ever visible once you put something down on top of them
- There are warning stickers everywhere which leaves behind pieces if glue/paper making for an unsightly finish plus these black angled brackets don't allow a mattress skirt (which would have been great since we didn’t know what type)and also clash greatly against white paint coloration found within our selected baby

Dream On Me: What are the 2 mattress setting heights? I’m attempting to match the height near to the elevation of my bed to use the crib as an attached side sleeper.
Dream On Me has 3 feasible elevations for the mattress. The cushion assistance sits at about 14″, 19″ or 24″ from the ground with wheels on 13″, 18″ or 23″ without the wheels. These dimensions do not include the density of the bed mattress. It is challenging to measure due to the fact that the bracket that supports the bed mattress brings the cushion concerning 3″ less than the holes that it screws in to. I hope this aids.
From the bottom of the leg (no wheel) down border is 12.
Does the seat adjust phil & teds to accomodate various baby/toddler elevations?
Has flexible seat & foot stirrups. A contouring and adjustable harness sustains their little body as well as keeps them risk-free & secure.
