There’s a lot to consider when deciding between the Bugaboo Butterfly and Ergobaby Metro+. They both have aluminum frames, soft seat padding for comfort as well as adjustable headrests that can be set up in many different positions. However, these two models differ quite significantly from one another with respect to their ergonomic design features such as storage space inside your backpack or stroller – which would you rather use?
Now, this is a tough one. Child-friendly, easy-to-use, and store strollers come in all shapes and sizes with many different features that make them attractive options for parents on the go!
But which model will work best? Let’s take a look at what each model has going for it before deciding if they’re the right choice.
Some differences between strollers are whether they make your child more comfortable, and easier for you to use and maintain over time. Some factors that may influence these decisions include what type of vehicle you drive as well as how much room there is in the car seat or infant bassinet before taking off again at any point during travel.
Ergobaby Metro+ Baby Stroller
The Ergobaby Metro+ stroller is a lightweight and compact model that weighs 7.8 kilos, and folds down to 54 by 44 by 25 centimeters for easy storage or transporting on public transportation systems such as buses & trains.
- TRAVEL WITH EASE: The Metro+ Stroller makes every outing easier - at only 17 pounds, this stroller is easy to lift and fits into most airplane overhead storage bins (21x17x9 in), includes an adjustable handlebar height for parents of all statures, and preserves space in your home by easily folding down for stowing

- THE STROLLER THAT DOES IT ALL: Metro+ Baby Stroller grows with your baby from newborn to toddler (~0-48 Months; up to 50lbs), a reliable essential for your baby at all stages of growth, no accessories needed.
This durable, lightweight device can be used for errands around town or on vacation as it holds up to 22 pounds worth of passenger weight and has a big enough basket that will fit your needs – 4.5 kilos.
The Metro+ Stroller has a deep, near-flat recline and an adjustable leg rest for passengers. It also includes generous proportions versus many other models on the market. The stroller offers a generous amount of space for your children. With an impressive width of 33 centimeters and a length that measures 113 plus 3cm from adding up all six components together: baseboard, backboard + canopy sides(60″), and front frame-mounted footrest.
The high-position canopy is a must for older toddlers and those with sensitive skin, but it can be blocked in hot weather. The lack of sun coverage should not deter you from buying this stroller though as there are other options available that will allow your little one to enjoy some time outside without being exhausted or overheated.
The Metro+ stroller offers a little extra space and comfort when it comes to parenting. With an adjustable telescopic handle, you can easily find the perfect height for shorter parents. The Metro+’s basket is a bit on the smaller side and shallower when compared to other ultra compacts. However, it still has more weight to carry compared with heavy models.
On one hand, the folding of this stroller is easy to accomplish. Though the handle-mounted activation buttons are loose out of the box, it is worth noting that this makes them tricky to use. The larger size and tighter fit between components will generally make using two hands necessary for installation which could be an issue depending on how skilled you are with your tools. The folded package is decently compact right on the border, but still within IAIA’s guidelines for cabin luggage. The design of the stroller has an inbuilt hand strap for carrying, which is really convenient.
Though the weight of this product means that you’ll want to carry it around for short trips, not long walks.
The durability of the Metro+ stroller is impressive considering its compact design and strong components. The reinforced connection points, thick bars that can withstand pressure from your child’s weight, as well hinges made with tough material mean this thing will last longer than most other options on today’s market.
The creak might be an issue for some people when compared with other models. However, this can be attributed to its tight fit and should not pose any major problem for most people who own it as long they lubricate regularly. The folding system can be a bit complicated, meaning that there is potential for alignment problems with the model’s internal components in regard to driving over time. Despite its sturdiness, though this shouldn’t pose any issues as long you follow instructions closely when using it.
It is not the best option if you want to move around on rough terrain. The front wheels are smaller than average, making it hard and a bit uncomfortable for use in even slightly uneven ground like gravel or broken sidewalks that move easily with each step. However, the Metro Plus is an excellent choice for those who live in areas that have cleaner pavement.
Bugaboo Butterfly Baby Stroller
The Butterfly is a slightly lighter 7.3 kilos and folds down to 45 by 23 by 54 centimeters, making it one of the most portable strollers on this list. Like the Metro+, this standard-sized model can handle a maximum weight of 22kg. However, there is also an eight-kilogram option for those who need more space in their baskets.
- ONE SECOND FOLD & UNFOLD - The smart and easy 1 second folding system which offers a true fold & go experience with just one free hand.
- EASY TO CARRY - Only weighing 16.1 lbs and offers multiple carrying modes to effortlessly take it with you by the integrated carry strap or leg rest.
- SMALL TO STORE - Ultra compact fold for easy storing at home or on the go. It's also travel certified (IATA compatible) and can fit into overhead compartments in most airlines and train travel.
- GROWING TODDLER - Designed specifically with growing babies in mind (Up to 50 lbs). The Bugaboo Butterfly features an extra spacious seat with high backrest and extra padded inlay.
- ADD ACCESSORIES - Compatible with most Bugaboo accessories. Use them to add comfort, convivence or stylize your stroller in new ways.
The Butterfly’s seatback recline is a little shallower than on the Metro. The stroller comes with a slightly larger, more comfortable seat for napping. It also includes adjustable leg rests to make sure you’re able to keep the baby comfy during those long walks.
On the Butterfly, though there is not much difference in size between seats compared to those on a Metro. The different planes of the stroller seat make it easier for older toddlers to sit up and be more comfortable. It’s also better proportioned, with a longer backboard offering support when they’re in a reclined position as well as deeper baseboards that offer greater stability so you can go on your trip worry-free. And since the canopy also shades better, you can enjoy your outdoor space without worrying about harmful UV rays. The harness is much easier to use and I can tell that the textiles feel more luxurious.
We know that parents often struggle to find the perfect balance between children and their comfort. The 102 centimeters long handle on the Butterfly stroller is not adjustable like its counterpart but still sits comfortably. With its large and sturdy shopping basket, this model provides parents with more space than what they get on the Metro Plus stroller.
There isn’t much difference between the two models when it comes to folding.
However, in terms of folding, the activation mechanisms on Butterfly strollers are better fitted. Though beyond this, the Butterfly stroller is stronger than most ultra-compact models out there and thus takes more effort to fold or unfold when done so.
The Butterfly is a lighter and more compact option than the Metro+, making it easier to carry. It also comes with an included shoulder strap, which increases its versatility for everyday use. The perfect balance of comfort, support, and portability is what you can expect with this stroller.
The Butterfly’s frame is designed with an equally reinforced chassis and horizontal support, making the model less prone to developing internal mechanical problems in the future. The one-stage folding system also helps keep things simple for you.
With a diameter of 4.7 inches, the Butterfly’s front wheels are similar in size and shape to those on Metro+. However, it does have smaller rear wheels. The Butterfly and Metro+ strollers have their differences, but when it comes to the terrain they both perform equally.
The rear frame suspension of the Butterfly means that it can handle a variety of terrains while still being lightweight and easy to carry. If you live or work in an area that has smoother terrain, then this stroller is perfect for your needs. However, it can also handle all-day use with ease thanks to its durable build quality which makes me confident in recommending them as everyday go-to baby carriers.
The reason why I prefer the Butterfly stroller over all others, in terms of both price and performance is its better-proportioned seats. It has a less complex folding system with an easy-to-use lock button for when you’re on your way out the door (or just need quick closure).
Plus it weighs less so traveling will be easier. However, the Butterfly and Metro Plus have very different prices, but the former costs more than twice as much. The price difference between these two scooters is actually quite significant – at $429 for the Butterfly versus just under 300 dollars.
The choice between the Metro and Butterfly is a difficult one.
While they both offer good features, there are some differences that may make your decision easier. The first difference is their prices; the metro can be found at an affordable price while butterflies cost more than what most people would like to pay for something with no necessarily added benefits. The Butterfly has advantages that are proportionate with how much it costs, but I’d say this choice really comes down to what you are willing to spend on an item.
So, which one should you get? The Bugaboo Butterfly or Ergobaby Metro+. We hope that after reading this article, it will be easier to choose between these two popular strollers!
